A Peaceful Weekend Escape to Yangju
There’s nothing like a peaceful, sunny weekend to explore new spots outside the city. Recently, we had the chance to visit Yoon Chef’s Honest Bakery in Yangju, located near the well-known Lakewood Country Club.
📍 158 Gwangsa-ro, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do
This bakery café instantly caught our eye thanks to its full-glass exterior, which lets in the natural light beautifully on a sunny day.
Perfect for those in-between days—when spring turns into summer.

Why Visit Yoon Chef’s Honest Bakery?
If you love cafés with ample parking, high ceilings, and delicious breads, this one’s for you. These days, we all check for parking and café size before heading out—and this spot checked all the boxes.
Despite the café being near an active new town development area, the surroundings still have a cozy, slightly rural charm. It almost felt like a small countryside farm was nestled right next door. You could see that the Yangju New Town project is changing the vibe of this area, slowly but steadily.
Arrive Early for the Best Bakery Experience
Just like any popular large-scale bakery café, arriving early is key. We went before the lunch crowd rolled in—call it a soft open-run—and that turned out to be the best decision.

🍞 Brunch Vibes over Dessert Stop
This isn’t the kind of place you visit after a full meal. You’ll want to show up with an appetite because the bread selection is massive—and it’s hard to resist. From savory loaves to sweet treats, there was something for everyone.
Pro tip: Bring friends or family so you can try more variety!

Bread Selection: What We Tried
The bread options ranged from hearty meal-replacement loaves to intricate desserts. You could tell that this wasn’t just a “cute” café—it was serious about its baked goods.

🥐 Our Picks:
Basic Croissant: Sometimes, simplicity is the best way to test quality. The croissant had a clean, buttery taste with a flaky texture.
Pumpkin Campagne: This loaf was hefty in both size and weight. It’s one of their most talked-about items and didn’t disappoint.
Canelé: A must-try if you’re a fan of caramelized crust and custard center.
I always have a bit of a personal rule:
Try the basic version before exploring the jazzed-up ones. You can’t judge a bakery unless you know how they do the basics.

Spacious and Stylish Interior
The interior was bright, clean, and well-structured.
Both floors had plenty of seating, and the ceilings were high, giving the whole place a very airy and open vibe. The decor was minimalistic, which let the natural light and outdoor scenery do most of the talking.
This would make a great place to work with a laptop, meet friends, or bring your whole family for a relaxed weekend.
Not Just Hype: Balanced Overall Experience
To be honest, while the bread wasn’t the most unforgettable I’ve ever had, the experience as a whole made this place memorable.
In an era of trendy oversized bakeries, many rely on Instagram aesthetics alone. But Yoon Chef’s Honest Bakery strikes a balance:
✅ Spacious layout
✅ Good parking
✅ High-quality bread
✅ Reasonable prices (at least when I visited)
✅ Solid coffee and drink options
You might not be blown away, but you won’t be disappointed.
And that, these days, is a compliment.
Worth the Visit?
Absolutely. If you live nearby, this could easily become a weekend go-to spot. And if you’re coming from outside Yangju, it’s still worth the drive—especially if the weather is nice.
Enjoy a good brunch, pick up a few loaves to take home, and make a day out of it.
